deafConnectEd is the lead agent for the Victorian Auslan Training Consortium (VATC). The Auslan training contract was awarded to the Northern Melbourne Institute of TAFE (now Melbourne Polytechnic), commencing July 2013 – December 2016 and is managed by deafConnectEd and the VATC.
The Victorian Auslan Training Consortium comprises deafConnectEd (lead agent), Melbourne Polytechnic ( training), Vicdeaf (community and stakeholder management) and La Trobe University (research, workforce and resource development). For more information about the consortium click here.
Currently if you are wanting to learn Auslan and receive an accredited qualification, Melbourne Polytechnic is the only organisation offering training from Certificate II to Diploma level. For more information about Melbourne Polytechnic’s accredited Auslan training program click here.
Short, introductory Auslan courses are also provided by Vicdeaf and can be a great introduction to the language.
