Particularly for a deaf student who is communicating “orally” through lipreading and speech – and who could possibly also using residual hearing – it is important to try to establish a quiet area without distractions to communicate with him or her.  This will assist both of you because communication on both your parts will require a good deal of concentration.  To read more about communicating with your oral deaf student, click here
