Some deaf people will support what they hear through their hearing aid or cochlear implant (CI) with an FM (frequency modulated) system.  This is a wireless system that requires that the speaker – in the case, you the teacher – wears a transmitter, which is often a small microphone.  The deaf student wears a receiver that interacts with his/her hearing aid or CI.  Through radio waves, your voice is transmitted directly to the deaf student.

More information about FM systems is available on the internet.  Click here to go to one useful site.
