deafConnectEd is working with the Victorian Deaf Education Institute to deliver a five day Auslan intensive program to two groups of Teachers of the Deaf. The program builds on the success of a similar program which was piloted in 2014 and received extremely positive feedback.

The 2015 program is also off to a good start with participants commenting on the focused and supportive learning environment and the new appreciation they are developing for Auslan as a language. The program will be particularly focused on the features of Auslan that are unique to signed languages including the use of space, depicting signs and constructed action.

Stephanie Linder and a team of Auslan teachers from Melbourne Polytechnic will deliver the program over the coming months.
